Weekend Rock Question: What Is the Best Paul Simon Deep Cut?

Paul Simon appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last week to perform “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard,” though he was officially billed as the lead singer of the fictitious Paul Simon tribute act Troubled Waters. Colbert even created a website for the bogus group, listing 2012 dates like the Yorktown High School FUNraiser for Charity and the Rosen Bar Mitzvah, which apparently was cancelled.

Now we have a question for you: What is Paul Simon’s best deep cut? We’re going to count anything from his solo career that wasn’t a big hit or hasn’t become a widely-loved tune. Feel free to vote for an early song like “Duncan” and “Silent Eyes,” a 1980s cut like “Hearts and Bones” and “Gumboots” or something more recent like “Getting Ready for Christmas Day” and “So Beautiful or So What.” Please avoid Simon and Garfunkel songs and stick to his solo work. Also, please just vote for a single time and only for a single selection.
