Watch Weezer’s Goofy Live Debut of New Song ‘Feels Like Summer’
Weezer debuted their new single “Feels Like Summer” onstage with a goofy, celebratory performance Tuesday on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Singer Rivers Cuomo alluded to the song’s warm weather themes by wearing a large sun costume. The singer moved between a borderline-rap delivery and a chirpy falsetto. His bandmates matched the summery vibe with shouted backing vocals and joint whistling. Bassist Scott Shriner took on additional instrument duties, performing drum and sample pads on the verses.
Weezer issued “Feels Like Summer” last week as a preview of their upcoming 11th LP, due out later this year. The band will kick off a North American tour April 2nd in Winnipeg, Canada. In October, they will head to Europe for their first dates there since 2005.
Last year, the band released their fourth self-titled album, commonly known as “The White Album,” and a deluxe version featuring four new tracks. Cuomo also joined electronic duo Zeds Dead on their track “Too Young.”
