Watch Usher Sing Smoky, Slowed-Down ‘Crash’ on ‘Tonight Show’
Usher brought his new single "Crash" to The Tonight Show Thursday, teaming up with house band the Roots for a music video-worthy performance.
For their rendition, Usher showcased his signature dance moves and falsetto along a catwalk between the Roots, as a white screen flickered in the background. To keep with the atmospheric, emotional vibe of the single, the performance is presented in slight slow-motion, giving it a dreamy vibe while surreal moments like when Usher leaps off the stage.
Usher visited The Tonight Show to promote the film Hands of Stone, a boxing film where the singer portrays Sugar Ray Robinson. Robert De Niro stars as Ray Arcel, the real-life manager of boxer Roberto Duran, played by Edgar Ramirez.
Earlier this week, Usher appeared briefly on Last Week Tonight to join an all-star collection of artists telling politicians to stop using their songs. The singer also revealed that he would take part in this year's Global Citizen Festival.
