Watch Pusha T Ride Merry-Go-Round With Nuns in Eerie New Video
“This is the ministry of street energy / the church of criminology teaching my chemistries,” Pusha T rhymes on “Crutches, Crosses, Caskets,” a Timbaland-produced track from upcoming LP King Push – Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude. Now, director Kid Art has brought that church to life with the track’s creepy music video.
The G.O.O.D. Music rapper/CEO raps onboard a merry-go-round at night, joined by tattooed nuns in revealing outfits who alternate between praying and smoking cigarettes. The song finds Pusha alternating between wealth boasts (“My infinity pool as long as Magic’s”) and violent visions (“All I see is death by the masses”) over Timabaland’s hypnotic loops and synth-bass.
“Crutches, Crosses, Caskets” is Pusha’s latest preview of King Push – Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude, which is out December 18th and features guest spots from Kanye West, the-Dream and A$AP Rocky, among others.
“I feel like the lyrics on Darkest Before Dawn are uncompromised hip-hop and really speaking to my core fan base,” the rapper recently told Rolling Stone. “Basically what’s been known in my discography the entire time. I feel like I’m the last rap superhero. I really do. I feel like everybody else, they seem to be a bit victimized and I don’t feel like that’s me.”
Pusha will promote the LP with appearances appear on The Daily Show (Tuesday, December 15th) and The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore (Thursday, December 17th).
