Watch Ariana Grande’s Blazing Live ‘Dangerous Woman’ Clip

Ariana Grande dropped her third album Dangerous Woman today. Vevo captured the powerhouse vocalist belting the title track in – of all places – a mid-19th century synagogue in New York’s Lowest East Side Wednesday night as part of its “Vevo Presents” live concert series.

The clip shows Grande performing her galvanic “Dangerous Woman” single, amplified by the use of Mi.Mu gloves, which Imogen Heap developed. The gloves have data-capture systems allowing them to match Grande’s vocal intonation with digital stage effects. So every time the chorus looped around, Grande’s voice set the center’s facade (visually) ablaze.

The live clip takes place inside the Angel Orensanz Center, which was converted into a multi-purpose venue in the Eighties. But the center retains all of the characteristics of a place of worship, from the buttressed ceiling to the outline of rose window. The holy setting was ideal for Grande’s endlessly robust voice. And there was a bit of Grande’s requisite cheekiness in her wearing an oversize bubblegum pink sweatshirt, draped around her shoulders like a mink stole, in the pulpit. Dangerous woman, indeed.
