Tears for Fears Reschedule Tour, Working on New LP
Tears for Fears have announced their rescheduled autumn tour as well as revealed plans to continue working on their new album, their first LP since 2004′s Everybody Loves a Happy Ending.
The band’s summer U.S. tour was postponed in May due to a “family illness,” and while Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal couldn’t reschedule the entire tour, they’ve locked down 14 North American dates, starting September 17th in Goldendale, Washington. The tour concludes October 9th in San Diego.
“Tears for Fears’ are pleased to announce that they have rescheduled as many tour dates in the fall as possible, that were previously postponed earlier this year,” the band said in a statement. The band also revealed that they’re “currently working hard” on their first studio album in 12 years, with a 2017 release planned on Warner Bros Records.
In late-July, Tears for Fears will perform a pair of dates in the United Kingdom, marking the British band’s first gigs in the U.K. in over a decade; they last performed live in their native country in May 2005 with a concert at London’s Hammersmith Odeon. Tears for Fears’ July 31st appearance at the Bestival festival will also represent the band’s first U.K. festival gig since Knebworth in 1990.
