Kendrick Lamar already let it be known that Molly wasn’t cool and that it’s time for hip-hop to move on from its infatuation with the drug, but apparently, Miley Cyrus didn’t get the memo; or just didn’t care. The artist formerly known as Hannah Montana dropped her new single, “We Can’t Stop,” on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show Monday (June 3) and it’s replete with references to the drug K-Dot admonished in the waning seconds of his video for “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe.”

“We like to party/ Dancing with Molly/ Doing whatever we want,” Miley sings on the chorus, oblivious to Kendrick’s distaste of how much the drug has permeated rap’s message of late.

“Sometimes you have the trends that’s not that cool,” Kendrick explained to MTV News’ Sway Calloway. “You may have certain artists portraying these trends and don’t really have that lifestyle and then it gives off the wrong thing. And it becomes kinda corny after a while.”

Miley’s song, which starts off chopped and screwed and has a distinctively hip-hop beat thanks to producer Mike Will Made It, is an ode to doing what one wants to do, all the time, including twerking.

“To my homegirls here with the big butts/ Shaking it like we’re at the strip club/ Remember only god can judge you/ Forget the haters, ’cause somebody loves ‘ya,” sings Miley, who set the Internets ablaze when she posted a video of her twerking in a unicorn onesie.
This is the first track off Miley’s upcoming fourth studio album, which is slated for a fall release.

“I’m really happy with my record. I’m in a good-bad situation where I just don’t know what I want to go next,” Miley said. “My record’s kind of like a movie. It’s really a story of what I’ve been going through.”
