By Maurice Bobb
Lil Durk is back in hot water for packing heat. The Chief Keef affiliate, real name Durk D. Banks, was arrested Wednesday (June 5) in Englewood and charged with one felony count of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, just weeks shy of finishing his parole for another gun charge.
According to the Sun-Times, Chicago police officers responded to a report of a person with a gun around 3 a.m. in the 7200 block of South Green Street, and, after identifying Banks as the person with a loaded .40-caliber pistol, apprehended him without incident.
The 20-year old Coke Boys/Def Jam Records signee was released from prison last July after serving time for possession of a hand gun with its serial numbers scratched off. Not surprisingly, that last arrest also occurred in the confines of Englewood, in the 6400 block of South Eggleston Avenue. According to records, the Melrose Park spitter was scheduled to complete his parole at the end of next month.
Durk is scheduled to appear in Cook Country Criminal Court Thursday for a bond hearing.
