J. Cole’s Born Sinner Album Leaks: Fans React

One of the summer’s most anticipated albums, J. Cole‘s Born Sinner, has sprung a leak. Cole’s sophomore set hit the Internet last night before its official June 18 release date, just as the Roc Nation rapper held a listening session in NYC and at a few special locations across the country.
The 16-track offering features singles “Power Trip” with Miguel as well as the new song “Crooked Smile” featuring TLC. Kendrick Lamar and singer James Fauntleroy, who recently made waves on Drake’s “Girls Love Beyonce,” also make cameos.
Fans took to Twitter to excitedly share their thoughts about the album. Most early fan reviews seemed positive. “Yo, if you said Born Sinner is weak…you can go jump off a cliff, play on the freeway, kiss a chainsaw or something. I don’t know, just go,” said one fierce fan. One added, “cole took the mistakes on the first album and evolved his sound on born sinner lyrics always been on point but the production is FLAWLESS.”
Many true, loyal fans refused to listen to the illicit leak. “I will not download the leaked ‘Born Sinner’. I will not download the leaked ‘Born Sinner’. I will not download the leaked ‘Born Sinner’,” promised one fan and another threw in, “Basically if you download the born sinner link and like it and don’t buy the album i hope your phone blows up .”
Cole himself seemed fine with his album leaking prematurely. “All love. Outta my hands. June 18th” he tweeted.
