Hear RaeLynn Sing About Divorce on Plaintive ‘Love Triangle’

Raelynn has released her first song under her new agreement with Warner Music Nashville. Formerly rostered with Big Machine Music Group, the “God Made Girls” singer explores the topic of divorce on the new release, titled “Love Triangle.”

She describes a scene that reveals more and more of the story with each line: someone waits with a white suitcase while a diesel truck approaches in the driveway. The driver of the truck is careful to avoid the stare of the Southern belle watching from the door. “And I cry for her, out the window,” sings Raelynn, suddenly becoming a part of the narrative. She looks with acceptance at the idea that not all marriages will work out, but imbues the chorus hook with the sadness of someone who had to play the third point in the family’s awkward new configuration. After arriving in Nashville via The Voice, RaeLynn released the singles “God Made Girls” and “For a Boy” to country radio. Her EP, titled Me, was released in 2015. This weekend, she’s slated to play Warnack State Park in Atchison, Kansas.
