Hank Williams Jr. to Perform at ACC Awards

Monday’s American Country Countdown Awards have added Hank Williams Jr. to the performance line-up. While still a consistent concert draw, Williams’ TV appearances have become more limited in recent years. His most notable — and most entertaining — came in 2011 when he crashed Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood’s monologue at the CMA Awards. For the inaugural ACCAs, however, Bocephus is set to perform a full song, closing the show with one of his all-time classic party hits.

The outspoken country rebel joins Lady Antebellum, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Brett Eldredge and Kenny Chesney as performers. Hosted by Florida Georgia Line, who also perform, the American Country Countdown Awards recognize the best in country music as based on radio airplay and album sales.

Aldean, Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Lady A and Blake Shelton all compete for Artist of the Year. Chesney, meanwhile, will receive a special Groundbreaker Award from presenter Vince Vaughn, and Reba McEntire will be bestowed the Nash Icon award from Kix Brooks.

Other presenters include Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw, NASCAR’s Jimmie Johnson and Walking Dead star Emily Kinney.

The American Country Countdown Awards air live Monday night at 8 p.m. ET on FOX from Nashville’s Music City Center.
