All hail Third Ward Trill. Beyonce brought her Mrs. Carter Show world tour to her hometown, Houston, on Monday night (July 15). During the performance she delivered her single “Bow Down” live for the first time and she and Jay-Z had some hang time with H-Town legends like Scarface, Bun B and Slim Thug.
As the stage went dark, images of a young Beyonce with the words “Bow Down” appeared on a giant screen. Sound bites of gossip reports played, such as ones saying that she wears wigs and that she didn’t give birth to Blue Ivy. The stage fell dark once more before illuminating to reveal Beyonce and dancers, all rocking stilettos and ready to bust out choreography for the Hit-Boy-produced anthem.
A group of Texas rap legends were among those in attendance, including Scarface, Bun-B, Slim Thug, Z-Ro, Lil’ Keke and Willie D, who came together for a special H-Town remix of Bey’s “I Been On” earlier this year.
Earlier in the day, Bey posted a preview for “Bow Down,” in which she rocks gold fangs and a grill.
